August at The Corner School
What a month it has been at The Corner School! Lots of painting, gardening, tidying, and smiling in preparation for our opening this week! Our Corner School volunteer days were a resounding success. The volunteers painted most of the walls and fence, and hung up all of our new plants in the entrance way. Stuart and Jan came to visit from our board of trustees, as did the Financial Times who were there to interview Annabel and to document our success so far.
We are SO excited to open our doors and meet our new students! See you on Thursday everyone 🙂
Meet our Partner!
Over the last few months our team has been working closely with the Innovation Unit (IU) in the setup of The Corner School. IU bring deep experience of working with innovative provision in the UK and internationally, including: iZone in New York and Australia; Big Picture Learning; TBAP on the MOPAC-funded REAL Alternatives programme. They have worked alongside our team to design the detail of our model using innovative child-centred approaches.
The day has finally arrived! Our classrooms are ready, our teachers are prepared, and excitement levels are high. Feeling very proud of our headteacher, Noreen Rahman and the rest of the senior leadership team for their exceptional work and steady perseverance to make this day possible.
Stay tuned for updates from the rest of the week!
